On August 1st and 2nd, Christine Beaulieu will once again present her show Les saumons de la Mitis at the Jardins de Métis, in La Véranda by architect Pierre Thibault.
After J’aime Hydro, the author and actress offers a powerful ecological fable in which she gives voice to the wild salmon of the Mitis River. This sensitive and engaging story immerses the audience in their fascinating journey and their reality, disrupted by human activity. A work that brilliantly blends science, history, and poetry—a must-see.
In this theatrical performance (in French), Christine Beaulieu adopts the salmon's point of view, from egg to adulthood. She recounts the entire journey it must make in the Mitis River and all the obstacles it must overcome, with or without the help of us humans. And since Elsie Reford, the creator of the Reford Gardens, was a salmon fishing enthusiast, Christine invited her to return to the Gardens she shaped over more than 30 years, to tell us about her passion for fishing.
