For the 25th edition of the Literary Teas, 6 meetings with 11 great voices of literature in Quebec and the musicians who will accompany them are offered to the population from June 21 to September 14 at the Jardins de Métis.
Sunday, August 31, at 4 p.m.: Yara el Ghadban et Mélikah Abdelmoumen
Animation: Annie Landreville
Under the theme of commitment, we welcome two authors and editors who are two women of words and action. Born in Saguenay, to a mother involved in politics and social development, novelist and essayist Mélikah Abdelmoumen spent 12 years in France where she rubbed shoulders with the excluded, where she observed the effects of social inequalities. Yara el Ghadban is a novelist, translator, and anthropologist of Palestinian origin; she grew up in a refugee camp and has lived in Montreal since 1989. A meeting between two exceptional women.
